Senior Associate, International Arbitration, 6

Kennedys Legal Solutions is looking for a mid-senior level lawyer to join its fast growing international arbitration and disputes practice.

This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious lawyer who is keen to work on an array of challenging cases in a collegiate and highly regarded team within a fast growing international law firm. The lawyer will be exposed to wide range of international disputes work and Singapore qualified lawyers will have the opportunity to also handle related Singapore litigation work.

This is not a replacement role. The team is in an exciting new phase of growth and is looking to hire as part of the firm's global expansion plans.

**Team**

Kennedys Singapore was established in 2008 and in 2015 entered into a joint law venture (JLV) with local Singapore law firm, Legal Solutions to create Kennedys Legal Solutions. Kennedys Legal Solutions is the Singapore office of the international law firm Kennedys which has 67 offices and associated offices/cooperations around the world.

Kennedys Legal Solutions pride ourselves on helping our clients navigate both business and legal challenges throughout the Asia Pacific region and across multiple practice areas, with focus on commercial disputes. We provide a seamless suite of services across both English and Singapore law which gives Singapore qualified lawyers in the team the opportunity to practice in both jurisdictions at the same time.

The Singapore team has a strong market reputation and punches well above its weight. The team handles a range of cross border dispute work, primarily in the energy, international trade and shipping sectors for a number of very significant clients. Due to the nature of disputes that we handle, we regularly work with colleagues across our global network and also with lawyers in jurisdictions where we do not yet have an office.

**Cases**
- International arbitrations on commercial disputes, seated in London, New York, Singapore, Hong Kong and elsewhere in Asia
- Multifaceted commercial disputes involving commodities / shipping related contracts involving fraud, and other such issues.
- Jurisdictional challenges, anti-suit injunctions
- Advice on trade sanctions and other regulatory and compliance issues.

**Required experience**
- 6-12 years + PQE*
- International Arbitration experience - preferably in the energy, commodities or shipping sectors
- Singapore or UK qualified
