**Summary**

The role will report to the Marine Operations Controller and will be responsible for overseeing the repair, maintenance, and safe operation of the company’s fleet of tugs, barges, and workboats. The role ensures vessel reliability, regulatory compliance, and cost efficiency through effective planning, supervision, and stakeholder coordination. Key responsibilities include managing drydocking projects, coordinating mechanical and electrical upgrades, enforcing safety standards, and maintaining vessel documentation.

**Vessel Repair & Maintenance**
- Oversee repair and drydocking of tugs, barges, and workboats, including scheduling and project costing.
- Manage mechanical, electrical, automation, and hull repair works to maximize productivity.
- Coordinate system upgrades, modification works, and preventive maintenance, including spare part ordering.
- Supervise commissioning, troubleshooting with OEMs, and inspections with classification societies, P&I, and port authorities.
- Familiarity with SOLAS, MARPOL, COLREG, STCW, ISM, ISPS, ISMS, and WSH regulations.

**Project & Operations Management**
- Monitor repair project budgets, schedules, and progress; provide cost forecasts and variance reports.
- Verify vendor service reports, timesheets, quotations, and work orders for billing and procurement.
- Coordinate with suppliers for bunkers, provisions, fresh water, oily waste, and sewage disposal.
- Lead accident/incident investigations, audits, and safety spot checks on vessels.
- Maintain accurate vessel documentation and certification status.

**Safety & Crew Management**
- Conduct toolbox and operations meetings, ensuring adherence to safety standards and work permits (hot work, confined space, painting, etc.).
- Oversee crew safety, skill standards, and compliance with workplace health requirements.
- Communicate regularly with masters regarding vessel status, inventory, and crew matters.

**Stakeholder Engagement**
- Liaise with internal teams, clients, statutory bodies, classification societies, insurers, and vendors.
- Participate in MPA meetings, industry policy discussions, and green vessel initiatives.
- Provide progress updates and KPI reports to management.

**Planning & Strategy**
- Develop 5-year maintenance and drydock budgets, updating annually.
- Plan fleet provisioning and delivery schedules.
- Support insurance claims and liaise with underwriters.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma/Degree in Naval Architecture/Marine/Mechanical Engineering
- Possess 5 to 7 years' experience in similar capacity from marine / heavy industries
- Possess SRM Certificate
- Able to make appropriate decisions and judgments, decisive and take proper actions
- Able to lead and manage ship repair, construction and conversion projects independently
- Possess leadership qualities
