Sr/bioinformatician

You will be working closely with the NCID researchers and committees on various internal and collaborative projects related to infectious diseases, with emphasis on whole-genome sequencing of Gram-negative bacteria. The key roles include analyzing data, development of bioinformatics tools pipelines, and manuscript preparation for submission to peer-review publications.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- For the position of **Bioinformatician**:Maintain bioinformatics tools and pipelines related to next-generation sequencing of Gram-negative bacteria and other related analyses
Perform sequence and data analysis related to next-generation sequencing of Gram-negative bacteria
Assist in reporting and manuscript preparation
- For the position of **Senior Bioinformatician**, further responsibilities will include:Develop and maintain bioinformatics tools and pipelines related to next-generation sequencing of Gram-negative bacteria and other related analyses
Reporting key results of data analysis
Manuscript preparation for submission to peer reviewed journals by thorough literature review, data analysis, and manuscript drafting
- Any other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator / Supervisor

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- For the position of **Bioinformatician**: At least a Degree in Bioinformatics, Computational biology or Biological Sciences, or equivalent
- For the position of **Senior Bioinformatician**: At least a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational biology or Biological Sciences. Experienced in bioinformatics analysis of whole genome sequencing data for at least 4 years
- Familiar with file management and data analysis in the Unix/Linux environment
- Proficient in programming and scripting languages required for bioinformatics data analysis
- Prior experience in publication of research findings would be an advantage
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
