Singapore is one of the key strategic manufacturing sites for MSD and our patients. The local site operates complex, multi-product facilities that manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients, oral solid dosage, inhalation, and sterile drug products.
Looking for a change? The following presents an opportunity of a key role in site quality laboratory (microbiology) to deliver efficient, timely and reliable quality support operations in accordance with the quality standards providing end to end services to IPTs
**Associate Director, Laboratory (Microbiology)**
This is an individual contributor role. In this role, you will also be responsible for:
- Providing support to site-wide microbiology laboratory operation, including such as leading continuous improvement, quality investigations, and serving as microbiology topic owner/ expert.
- Ensuring the overall performance and results of the assigned IPT/area, while driving site quality culture
- Driving collaboration and transformational culture change
**Key Responsibilities, all or subset of the below;**
- Provide support to area manager to ensure successful outcomes of quality operations
- Coach, develop and support training, upskilling and career development needs for our quality associates
- Manage escalations and senior IPT stakeholders for the respective quality operations including financial targets and related efficiency and productivity KPIs for the overall team
- Lead and provide direction for the execution of projects and new product introduction (NPI) pertaining to the respective quality operations unit
- Accountable for the change control and management of issues including risks and issues management
- Actively seek opportunities to collaborate with other Quality Support Leads (QSLs) and encourage/support teams for continuous improvement
- Lead and drive site quality culture
**What are we looking for?**
**Qualifications & Experience**
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Science/ Life Science, Pharmaceutical Science or Engineering or proven relevant experience.
- 7-10 years of applied professional work experience in the following pharmaceutical work areas: quality operations, quality support and compliance
- Demonstrated experience in change and project management with ability to collaborate with cross functional team for the common goal.
- Experience in quality operations and basic knowledge of regulatory standards, compliance procedures and quality systems especially for Singapore, EU, or US markets

- Customer focus with strong business acumen and continuous improvement mindset
- Strategic and critical thinking mindset with a collaborative and problem-solving attitude
- Experience with project and change management
- Coaching and mentoring with a focus on creating an inclusive quality culture
