Quality Assurance Engineer

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be part of a centralized testing organization supporting a Derivatives Transformation program at our buy-side client. This role will require an individual who has proven expertise in methodologies both Agile and Waterfall development and implementing best practices in delivering high-quality products that meet company/industry standards and creating/managing runbook for production parallels. Requires effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a challenging environment.

**High Level responsibilities**:

- Work with testing lead to implement/update a consistent testing methodology and approach across the organization (includes creation of test plan, testing templates, updating existing processes and procedures (if needed), providing input to demand management, updating entry and exit criteria and providing input for testing metrics).
- Assist in creation of testing strategy that aligns with implementation strategy for the overall program. This will be inclusive of all stand-alone testing cycles, integrated testing, and user acceptance testing cycles.
- Prepare and manage runbooks (including 6-week production parallel runbook)for implementing tested and signed-off configurations to production
- Manage day-to-day operations (includes managing meetings, overall timelines, understanding project/testing dependencies, and verification of environment stability). Provide additional automation experience, and support for testing tool Maintain high levels of quality of the testing support required.
- Participate and present in stakeholder and management calls to provide status updates
- Manage vendor participation in testing activities.
- Identify the scope of the testing required for different workstreams and integrated eco system
- Initiate the Test Planning activities for Test case design and facilitate review meetings and ensure that the review comments are incorporated.
- Monitor test progress by assessing the work assigned to each of the resources and re-balance or re-allocate them as required during test cycles.
- Identify potential delays in achieving the schedule and provide leadership to the testing team to mitigate them
- Prepare any Risk Mitigation plans if in case any delays are foreseen.

**Skills**:

- Capital Markets related experience surrounding Asset Mgmt./derivative implementation desired.
- Experience working with Calypso implementation (ideally v14 and above) is a plus
- 5-10+ years of work experience in IT testing
- Strong understanding of Software Delivery Lifecycle; knowledgeable of various software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Must have experience working through all phases of software development lifecycle including requirements, architecture, design, development, testing, deploy, and maintenance.
- Knowledge base within derivative trading/trade lifecycle and financial instruments is preferred.
- Work experience in project management desired.
- Possess hands-on experience with quality management solutions such as HP Quality Center, Jira, Zephyr etc.
- Must have strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
