The Energy and Infrastructure Group specialises in large scale, award winning and market-leading projects across the world - covering oil and gas, petrochemicals, thermal, renewables, nuclear power, construction and infrastructure projects.

We act for sponsors, lenders, host governments and other project parties. Our broad experience advising the full range of market participants means that we are able to anticipate, and importantly understand, issues and problems that may arise during the course of a project and find constructive solutions to them.

Our South East Asian and Asian Energy and Infrastructure teams are very busy at the moment, covering everything from offshore wind projects in Taiwan and South Korea, major transport infrastructure, ESG-driven asset upgrades and assisting clients with project execution issues.

Our construction team is based across our Asian offices and the Singapore team plays both a leading and supporting role to our Asian, Middle Eastern and Russian mandates. The team also supports the global Energy & Infrastructure Group and construction practice.

As part of the team, you will have a good mix of sponsor, lender and investor side work, focusing on construction related documents and assisting the general Energy & Infrastructure team from time-to-time as needed. You will be part of large deal teams and also work on discrete construction-specific matters. You will gain exposure to a range of procurement approaches and work with both standard form and bespoke forms of contract. Our work is interesting because we work on large, complex projects where there is no “one size fits all” solution and we are constantly assisting our clients to solve complex and novel problems. As part of our team, you will grasp issues quickly and be confident to present solutions and drafting quickly and without precedent.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Draft and review documentation, demonstrate familiarity with precedents and market standards
- Provide sound commercial and legal advice to the client
- Network with clients to capitalize on new business opportunities
- Be flexible and willing to take on different types of work / mandates
- To succeed in this Associate role, you should be able to contribute to quality know-how, communicate assertively when under pressure and be a proactive team player

**Key Requirements**:

- NQ to 2 PQE (UK scale)
- Qualified lawyer ideally with construction background
- Excellent academic credentials
- Experience in construction or project finance is not a prerequisite but would be ideal, familiarity working with commercial contracts will be important
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Deductive reasoning and problem-solving will be a key assessment area
