**Responsibilities**

Your key responsibilities are as follow, but not limited to:
**Lead the Pastoral Care Department**:

- Designated person-in-charge for Safeguarding and part of the Safeguarding Team.
- Lead on all aspects of safeguarding and child protection.
- To ensure procedure and practice reflect the School’s ethos and in addition but not limited to Singapore’s legislations and statutory requirements.
- To ensure all policies and procedures are written, reviewed, monitored, and actioned.
- To ensure all training, both statutory and other is completed in a timely manner by all necessary staff and records are kept up to date accordingly.
- Lead in the development of processes to enhance the pastoral system of the School.
- Meet with Heads of Schools and the CEO weekly to provide oversight and monitor the pastoral care system of the School.
- Network with local support groups related to behavior and pastoral issues and disseminate information to colleagues where relevant.
- Undertake self-evaluation of the pastoral care system in order to contribute to the School’s system of monitoring, evaluation and review.
- Provide support and remain accessible to all staff, promoting staff well-being in the Pastoral Care department.
- Establish a clear network for the delegation of responsibility within the Pastoral Care department that is both effective and demonstrably accountable.
- Advise and support staff, management and other stakeholders in all matters related to child protection.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all areas of work.
- Work alongside an interdisciplinary team.

**Counselling**:

- Provide counselling support and programs for Winstedt students including but not limited to: education on understanding self and others, peer relationships, coping strategies, effective social skills, communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution and multicultural/diversity awareness.
- Provide assistance to classroom teachers for selected students in the areas of goal setting, decision-making, transition plans, and conflict resolution.
- Provide individual and small-group counselling as and when required.
- Work in conjunction with the Admissions Team including conducting the initial prospective student meeting in order to effectively evaluate the student’s needs and determine potential placement in the School.
- Complete notes, observations and submit reports as required.
- Attend all staff meetings as required.
- Maintain student confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively with staff members, parents and other associated professionals.
- Demonstrate efficient time management skills in completing tasks required for students and staff.
- Other ad-hoc duties as required by the CEO and the Pastoral Care Department

**Requirements**:

- Master's degree in Psychology and Counselling required.
- Minimum 10 years of counselling and student support experience followed by experience as a Head of Department preferred.
- Strong understanding of laws and regulations affecting international schools in Singapore.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- Strong affinity for working with diversed learners and helping them to succeed.
- Passionate about the mission and vision of The Winstedt School.
