Senior DevOps Engineer

GATD (Global Ad Technology Supervisory Dept.) focuses on driving innovation in the field of Ad Technology, making interactive products, providing hi-quality profitable marketing services for all Rakuten.

**Position Summary**:
The role has the responsibility of our online marketing platform development. As a DevOps engineer in the team, you will be exposed to advertisement domain as well as DevOps technical knowledge. You will be building and maintaining systems that support marketing activities efficiently. First, you must understand business requirements to manage and deploy critical business systems. Second, you will also be automating regular operations and proposing new ideas to increase overall productivity.

**Responsibilities**:

- Understanding Rakuten infra and platforms and making sure monitoring and alerting are applied to all the components.
- In case of trouble, detecting root cause and recovering with team members proactively with ownership of service/system.
- Proposing new technologies, middle-wares, tools etc. to improve reliability, operation & maintenance of systems,
- Working closely with related teams in both Singapore and overseas, such as Japan, China and India, by showcasing efficient communication and building consensus among stakeholders.

**Qualifications**:

- Over 5 years of experience on DevOps, handling high traffic production system independently, troubleshooting (middleware, infra etc.), automation, regular operation etc. Hands on with the large and scalable system.
- Good knowledge in CICD pipeline using tools such as Jenkins & GIT
- Experience in production automation using Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform etc. Should have real experience in implementation of automation using industry standard best practice, safety.
- Strong knowledge in LINUX based system operation and extensive skills in Linux commands.
- Strong scripting knowledge like Perl, shell, Python, etc.
- Identify process gaps and recommend on best practices based on industry standards.
- Provide technical expertise on complex automation and functional issues.
- Flexible for emergency support timing based on the business requirement. Must adapt to business needs in terms of working hours.
- Non-Business hour emergency support for critical issues.

**Good to have Qualifications**:

- Experience in cloud preferably GCP, able to understand VPC setup and resource provisioning using Terraform.
- Experience in trouble shooting JVM.
- Experience with databases like Couchbase, MongoDB, Redis, MySQL)
- Knowledge of online AD or marketing business and related technologies
