Oxford Economics, a leader in global forecasting and quantitative analysis, is expanding quickly its consulting operations in Asia and seeking to fill vacancies in its Singapore-based consulting team to enable that growth.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, fast-growing, global economic consultancy; working closely with expert colleagues in Singapore, London, Sydney, Dubai and New York.

We are looking for a Senior Economic Consultant, with 8-10 years of relevant experience. The role will be based in Singapore, reporting directly to the Singapore-based Director for Economic Consulting, Asia and with line management responsibilities. The individual will be part of a global ‘Economic Impact Consulting’ team, meaning that fluid and effective collaboration with colleagues in London, Sydney and New York, including our in-house econometrics and editorial teams, will be paramount.

The role will require working with autonomy on client-facing consulting projects - using a range of analytical and modelling techniques, producing proposals, drafting reports and communicating with clients.

Prior experience in an economic consulting role is highly preferred. Otherwise, other valid experience working in economics, managing quantitative and written research products and dealing with clients in public or private sector is valuable.

A performance related bonus is offered on top of the stated salary.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
Key elements of the role include:
Analytical and modelling responsibilities
- High quality data analysis, with excellent skills required in Excel, Stata, Eviews etc.
- Economic modelling and analysis in a number of disciplines, which might include input-output modelling, labour market modelling, cost-benefit analysis and bespoke scenario projections.

Delivering consulting projects
- Contributing creatively and constructively to new project proposals and ideas, as well as proactively seeking and developing new business opportunities.

Client and project management
- Effective communication with clients on behalf of the company to understand their needs and, during a project, to communicate complex economic reasoning and explain our analytical findings.
- Excellent project planning and time management, to structure one’s own work as well as wider project work, including adhering to Oxford Economics’ quality assurance processes.

Teamwork and management responsibilities
- Line-management of a more junior economist and responsibility for supporting his or her technical skills and professional development.
- Taking the initiative in suggesting ways to strengthen the quality of the team’s analysis, ways of working and or business opportunities in Singapore and globally.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**:
Desirable qualities for the role include:

- Expertise or experience of analysing detailed national statistics, such as labour market statistics and national accounts.
- An optimistic, constructive and pragmatic approach to problem solving in a research-context.
- Extensive experience of client-facing work and project management.
- An entrepreneurial spirit to win projects and grow the business.
