As a Fluid & Flight Dynamics Engineer, you will be working as part of an expert multiskilled team that perform Wing-In-Ground (WIG) craft research, analysis and optimization. You will be responsible for assessing the aircraft’s aerodynamic and hydrodynamic performance and stability by performing various analysis, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD), stability analysis and loads analysis. You will also be involved in further developing and evaluating existing and new tools such as CFD solvers and in-house codes.
Fluid & Flight Dynamics Engineers have to ensure adherence to best practices for CFD simulations, certification requirements for load and stability derivations and are responsible for adequate documentation of their analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide aerodynamic and hydrodynamic support and know-how to engineers from other disciplines to achieve an optimised and cost-effective design solutions within the stipulated project schedule.
2. Perform numerical simulations of WIG craft and validate them against experimental data.
3. Use analytical, semi-empirical and numerical tools to analyse, characterise and optimize WIG performance stability and loads.
4. Develop and optimize numerical tool chains and workflows for performance and stability analysis.
5. Prepare flight test plans and flight test equipment and support flight tests on-site when necessary.
6. Deliver presentations to both internal and external customers regarding relevant analysis and test results of the project to conclude performance of the design.
7. Contribute to the improvement and development of capabilities, skills and know-how within the organization.
8. Document analysis and developments in the form of technical reports.
