**Regional Risk Manager**

This is the regional Risk Manager position for a global Fortune 200 professional services organization specializing in real estate.

The position reports to the Senior Director, Global Risk Management, who is based in Chicago, United States. The position is located in Singapore; some international travel required as required by the Asia Pacific region (“the Region”) business needs. The position will provide insurance and risk management advice and support to the Region and the broader Global Risk Management function.

**What the day will look like**
- Renewal of annual and ad-hoc insurance programs across the business in the Region
- Negotiation of insurance and risk provisions of client, vendors and corporate business contracts
- Work with businesses within the Region and Global Risk Management to review the adequacy of existing insurances against new or existing risks that the businesses within the Region are undertaking
- Maintain strategic relationships with key insurance partners in the region and ensure the broking services are delivered in line with established service agreement and business unit expectations
- Provide advice and guidance to businesses in the Region in relation to the procurement of insurances
- Work with other regional risk managers on corporate insurance issues
- Maintain and manage large volumes of regional data for corporate programs
- Maintain a database of regional underwriting information / data and locally purchased insurance policiesDevelop and update regional insurance and risk management manuals and templates.
- Maintain frequent communications with various key stakeholders within the Region in view to get an understanding on the direction of the business strategy in order to pre-empt any need to re-evaluate the current insurances.
- Engage with the business to formulate and conduct training as appropriate to stakeholders
- Present on the Risk Management function within the region and how it’s connected to various business units and account teams as requested

**Skills and experience that will lead to success**

General Requirements
- Understand real estate related operations (i.e., facilities management, construction, and property management) and related insurance and risk management practices
- Excellent communication skills: draft directives, effectively explain technical insurance issues, prepare memos and reports for a senior audience
- Ability to analyse relevant parts of service contracts and discuss insurance requirements and implications with legal team, clients, and business partners on behalf of the businesses within the Region.
- Establish good working relationships with brokers, insurers, vendors, internal and external clients
- Flexibility regarding assignments; responsiveness to the needs of the businesses within the Region and its client.

Special Skills
- Degree preferred, professional designation in insurance/risk management a plus
- Highly experienced in risk management or associated fields
- General knowledge of local (across the Region) and international insurance practices
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with and build relationships with key stakeholders and different cultures within the Region
- Analytical thinking, problem solving, influencing and negotiation skills
- General knowledge of legal process; experience in working directly with legal counsel
- Fluent in Mandarin an advantage
