Job description;

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitor day to day ship’s operation for smooth activities at sea and port without delays and accident.
- To achieve client’s satisfaction with no delays.
- Monitoring and maintain shipboard PMS (Planned Maintenance System) for Hull and Machinery.
- Monitor and arrange shipboard scheduled statutory Classification surveys, and where possible to arrange surveys to be harmonized.
- Approve, co-ordinate and arrange supply of stores, spares and consumables, including Nautical Equipment’s and Publications.
- Approve, co-ordinate and arrange repairs.
- Implement ISM and ISO in conjunction with the TM.
- Coordinate and control vessel’s budget relevant to Technical aspects.
- Briefing of Shipboard Senior Officers prior to joining vessels with regards to SMS matters as required, company policies, specific charterers’ requirements.
- Maintain and upkeep technical Manuals, Drawings, Catalogues from makers and yards.
- Verify Documentations and Certifications of New buildings.
- A member of the shore Emergency Response Team for the relevant vessels they are in charge of.
- Assist in the identification of safety risk assessment and environmental aspects / impacts for vessel operations. Carry out audits and inspections as assigned.
- Be part of the incident investigation team providing technical assistance as and when required by the BOI.
- The ship superintendent is the main technical reference for the ship or group of ships assigned to him. She/he co-ordinates all the maintenance activities
- Monitoring all ship's documents and certificates and organizing ship's visits when due for renewal.
- Follow up and closure of incidents and marine casualties’ reports relating to the vessels under his/her responsibility.
- Keep the technical manager informed with timely updates on ship's condition and performances, based on his/her reports during ship inspections and all other technical documentation.
- Plans and prepares dry-dock specifications, following overall ship's repair and maintenance during works.
- Verifies and approves ship's requisitions for spares, service and consumable, issuing as well shore side requests for materials and service, if needed. He/she co-operates with the Purchasing Staff for evaluation of suppliers, new products proposals and development of new resources.
- Co-operating with the Safety Manager for monitoring and keeping safety standards on board, verifying all ship's official documents proper filing and renewal, monitoring the issuing of certificates by relevant Authorities in conformity to new regulations.
- Ensures that all relevant technical updates, information, and new regulations are transmitted to ship's Management.
- Co-operates with the safety and crew manager for the evaluation and assignment of Deck & Engine personnel.
- Structuring, implementing, and monitoring the Company SMS within the area of assigned responsibilities.
- Participate in the Company Incident Response Plan as a team member.

Qualifications and Education:
Technical education (Engineering degree, Naval Architect, Chief Engineer License or Equivalent or Master Mariner)

Extensive technical know-how and experience in Marine Engineering

Managerial experience and ability to coordinating activities

Ability to teamwork and personnel management skills

Able to communicate in Mandarin will be an advantage

Reports to:
Technical Manager

Authority

The Technical Superintendent has the authority as directed by the Technical Manager to act and make the necessary decision in all technical matters related to his functions and responsibilities.
