Global Legal plays an important role in protecting the Group’s reputation by helping to future-proof the organisation through robust legal risk and issue advisory. Responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice to senior management and all global businesses and functions, the team offers a diverse range of legal skills, jurisdictional experience and practice specialisms across all countries and territories in which our businesses operate.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a **Senior Legal Counsel.**

**Principal Responsibilities**
- The role-holder will be part of the legal team that provides legal advice and support to the Global Markets (GM) business in Singapore
- Provide legal support in respect of OTC derivatives transactions and other GM products and initiatives, assisting with trade documentation (such as reviewing ISDA Master Agreements, trade confirmations and product term sheets), developing and maintaining templates and liaising with external counsel when necessary
- Provide legal support to and collaborate with other functions and teams (such as Regulatory Compliance, Risk and Global Legal Services) that support GM business
- Assist and support line manager and the Singapore Legal Function in providing advice, guidance, direction and support to the GM business in Singapore
- Manage legal and regulatory risks in relation to the GM business in Singapore and ensuring that the relevant policies and procedures are adhered to
- Participate in and provide legal support for various projects and initiatives in relation to the GM business in Singapore
- Perform Legal function’s role as the second line of defence in the Group’s risk management framework and partnering the GM business in Singapore in addressing non-legal issues and risks (such as reputational risk and conduct risk)

- Qualified lawyer with at least 3 years of relevant post qualification experience with a reputable local or international law firm
- Confident practitioner
- Up-to-date knowledge of developments in own industry sector
- Able to handle a diverse range of issues
- Self starter, independent with good organizational skills
- Communication and inter-personal skills
- Lateral thinking/problem solving
- Stamina and ability to work under pressure
