Subsea Engineer

Local Unit & Position Description:
Offshore Infrastructure (OI) Section is under South East Asia (SEA) Department, consisting teams from Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Japan. In Singapore, we are a team of more than 20 permanent employees and a large pool of subcontractors, located at Singapore Science Park Office, serving customers for the entire region and beyond. Within the unit, we work in synergy to solve different technical challenges and innovate to meet to be ahead of competition.

We hold an important and strategic position in the marketplace, both locally and globally. It has the ambition of becoming a leading competence center and prime technical advisor in Asia Pacific and beyond. The section provides diverse services such as certification, verification, technical advisory, risk-based inspections, etc., in both CAPEX and OPEX markets, for segments in Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream, including Offshore Windfarms, LNG Terminals, Low-carbon, and Renewable Energy, etc.

Position Qualifications:

- At least 5-10 years’ experience within O&G and/or shipbuilding, Renewable industry
- Engineering degree or equivalent in Offshore Engineering / Offshore Technology / Civil Engineering
- Experience in performing engineering design verification, project coordination and project management.
- Strong fundamental understanding of subsea facilities, including flexible pipes/ risers/umbilicals, subsea production system (SPS) such as wellheads and Xmas trees, subsea manifolds, etc.
- Preferably having experience with offshore container certification
- Strong command of spoken and written in English, preferably also able to speak and read Chinese
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Willing to adapt to new technologies and proactive in taking up challenges
- Highly committed to project delivery
- Act as team player with a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate across teams within the Section, and other offices, for shared goals
- Hold broad technical competence
- Able to combine theoretical knowledge and practical skills
- Good communication skills, able to choose appropriate methods and style to suit the situation and audience
- Be self-motivated, resilient and cope with work pressure
- Hold sales acumen and be able to translate market needs into services that DNV can offer
- Have strong interpersonal and relationship building abilities
