The **Global Retail Markets Strategy Team for the East Regions **is looking for a new team member to drive GRM’s strategic priorities. As part of the Strategy team, you would work directly with leadership in Liberty’s international country operations to understand their biggest strategic opportunities, identify the right initiatives to increase financial value, and help implement those initiatives. You would also work directly with the East Regional COO, Market CEOs and Regional Functional Leads in addition to key stakeholders in GRM to provide strategic perspective on GRM East’s portfolio and positioning. Through this work, you will: - Directly influence business decisions in the East markets - Operate with In-country leadership teams across a wide variety of cultural settings - Build a deep understanding of China, India and South-East Asian markets and business dynamics - Gain exposure to senior executives at the local, regional, and home office levels Example of recent work includes - Setting the East region’s 5-year strategy and capability building plan - Develop post-merger Integration approach and plans for our acquisition in Malaysia - Evaluated our India Motor OEM strategy and go-forward approach - Framed and evaluated a key A&H partnership opportunity in China contributing >10M additional NWP - Performing due diligence on various acquisition opportunity with our Corp Development team If this sounds interesting, consider a role in the GRM Strategy Team for the East Region. **Responsibilities**: - Lead critical strategic and operational GRM initiatives that drive strategic thinking, decisions, and operational actions at all levels of the business - global, regional, and local. - Ensure local strategic and operational plans fit with the overall GRM vision and address the critical issues of the local country operation - Partner with country management teams, GRM East regional teams, and GRM leadership to identify opportunities to improve SBU effectiveness and efficiency - Evaluate and critique the strategies and operational improvement plans of local country operations - Develop and execute methods for measuring/tracking current /future performance and identify required enhancements in capabilities to execute on these methods Demonstrate thought leadership and be seen as a thought-partner to GRM East Market Presidents as well as to GRM functional leaders - Perform market, operational, and financial analysis to evaluate the impact of alternative management decisions on company performance **Qualifications** - Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, operations management, computer science or other related field. MBA or other relevant advanced degree desired. - Minimum 7 years of relevant general business experience, to include experience with strategic planning, finance, and evaluation of the economics of an insurance business - 7+ years of progressively more responsible and highly effective operations management experience in lieu of other skills will be considered. - Excellent communication skills - Displays solid business acumen and integrated thinking. - Must be driven and flexible enough to succeed in ambiguous and less structured situations. - Expert influencing skills, with a strong ability to build consensus among multiple levels and functions within the organization. Will need to influence actions and drive results among parties with different agendas and reporting relationships. - Experience with multiple cultures is required. - Ability and willingness to be mobile and travel internationally **Travel requirements** If COVID restriction are eased, position requires an average 25% of travel time on an annual basis. Travel time may exceed that 25% estimate over shorter periods of time -e.g., in a certain month - due to project requirements
