**APAC and Global Legal Team**

The APAC Legal Team includes legal and governance professionals who serve all of Schroders’ asset management and wealth business across APAC which includes both public and private assets. As a function, the legal team operates as a trusted partner, proactively facilitating the sustainable growth of the business.

**Reporting line and location**

The role is based in Singapore and the lawyer will become part of the South East Asia legal team. The lawyer will work closely with local Singapore-based legal team members and with the Head of Compliance and Risk in Korea who will operate as co-managers to support the cross-jurisdictional scope of the role. The role will report functionally to the Head of Legal, HK and Mainland China.

**What you’ll do**

**Public markets business**
- Draft and review all fund‐related documentation including trust deeds, explanatory memorandum and shareholder letter etc. for onshore and offshore funds.
- Review distribution agreements for intermediary clients.
- Provide legal advice on general issues relating to our public markets business.

**Private markets business**
- Collaborate and cooperate with colleagues in private markets business and other functions on private asset matters particularly in Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong and advise on the regulatory requirements.
- Support with contracts and corporate matters for private asset business particularly in Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong (e.g. service provider engagement terms, intra-group agreement, company secretarial duties for local GPs).

**General Commercial**
- Draft and review intra-group agreements between group affiliates, such as delegation agreements and service level agreements.
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements with external vendors/outsourcing partners, such as engagement letters, subscription agreements, IT contracts and other legal documentation.

**Company secretary**
- Provide company secretarial support (including advice on corporate governance matters) to our Korean and Singaporean subsidiaries.

**Projects**
- Liaise with various stakeholders to implement new strategies and complete projects for new business initiatives.Contribute to (i) on-going projects run within the regional legal team and (ii) other ad hoc projects related to regulatory and Schroders group policy change across the business.

**The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need**
- Qualified lawyer with at least 2 years of PQE
- Experience with the regulatory legislation impacting the asset management industry in Korea and Singapore
- Experience in drafting legal documentation in both English and Korean
- Attention to detail and procedure
