Design Engineer

**SUMMARY**
- This position is responsible for supporting project teams and senior level Engineers in the research, design and substantiation of the electrical / mechanical / payloads / systems and structures design within the Engineering department utilizing established processes, modeling and drafting standards.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES**

Including the following with other duties as assigned:

- Performs design assignments in accordance with established design standards under supervision of Lead / Senior Engineers.
- Assigned design tasks include but not limited to: basic aircraft design, electrical/mechanical/structural/payloads/systems installations, detailed assemblies and system specifications.
- Works under the direction of an experienced engineer, maintains or modifies basic electrical/mechanical/structural/payloads/systems based on defined requirements using approved processes and tools.
- Participates in project teams to support the development of designs. Supports the documentation of design implementation.
- Obtains, interprets, and analyzes OEM airplane installation drawings using approved processes and tools.
- Troubleshoots basic mechanical/structural/payloads/systems problems.
- Actively supports Engineering department and project team goals and initiatives.
- Coordinates with other departments as necessary.
- Utilizes internal drawing/document standards per customer or regulatory agency requirements.
- Some domestic or international travel may be required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty under the direction of an experienced engineer to the established department standards and processes. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Qualified degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related Engineering field
- 0-2 years experience in an engineering or aviation related field
- Knowledge
- Design : Able to read and understand Computer Aided Design (CAD) designs, drawings and specifications. Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and models.
