**Responsibilities**:

- Lead the development of new adhesive and sealant materials for variety of markets including automotive, aerospace, rail and construction
- Complete necessary tests needed to develop adhesives and sealants
- Lead scale up trials taking R&D prototypes to manufacturing
- Assist in product development, taking R&D developments to market
- Work with internal and external customers to understand requirements and specifications for new developments
- Assist Quality when problem solving needs arise by utilizing a science-based approach
- Proactively define new developments for unmet customer/market needs
- Lead material validation at customer
- Detailed record keeping in laboratory notebook
- Generation of intellectual property when appropriate
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor or Master degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Polymer Science
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with proven success
- Work experience in a laboratory or technical field highly desired
- Experience with rheology using parallel plate rheometer beneficial
- Experience with mechanical testing highly desired (tensile, shear and compression testing)
- Experience with titration techniques beneficial
- Knowledge of thermos-analysis techniques such as DSC, TGA and TMA beneficial
- Knowledge of FTIR useful
- Ability to work independently
- Fluent in both written and oral English
- Good communication skills both written and oral
- Pragmatic approach to opportunities and challenges
