**Context of the Job**
ABN AMRO Clearing (AAC) Network Management & Credit team supports the commercial teams in their first Line of Defence (1st LoD), in particular for the compliance and credit related risks for both clients and street-side counterparties. On the Credit part, the team is responsible for the implementation of actions that limit the lending exposure of an organization, through several ways such as implementing credit policies, performing credit analysis and reviews that help prevent poor lending decisions and protect the Bank. On the Network Management side, the team also manages relationships and the formal communication with street-side counterparties, as well as supports the global Network Management and Regional Management in providing regulatory delivery, street-side counterparty reviews, due diligence and ad-hoc projects/tasks/investigations etc.
The team sits within the Commercial function of AAC, operating across three offices globally (Netherlands, Singapore and US) and working closely together with the other parts of the Commercial team (Sales, Relationship Management, Global Execution Services, Client Service Management, and Client Lifecycle Management).
**Key Duties & Responsibilities
Network Management (NWM)
- Conduct Due diligence review on APAC Street-Side counterparties on a regular basis, including but not limited to SAC (Street-side Acceptance Committee) submissions or KYC requirement etc, ensuring that the potential risks are identified and within our risk appetite.
- Work with Legal, Operations and Market Risk etc to negotiate and review the agreement with AP (Authorized Participant) counterparties for new ETF on-boarding.
- Manage relationship and communications with Street-Side counterparties, maintaining service level to ensure high quality, trustworthy and competitively priced service.
- Support APAC Commercials and Regional Management in:
- New Street-Side relationship set-up and obtaining necessary approvals;
- Event-driven/ad-hoc review on existing counterparties;
- Update on market developments of Street-Side and industry bodies when required.
- Own and maintain the APAC Street-Side counterparties’ data via Salesforce.
- Work with NWM EU on SWIFT related setup/reconciliation and any ad-hoc investigations/tasks etc.
- Perform Contingency plan drafting for key FMIs in light of Recovery and Resolution, ensuring compliance with EU regulators.
Credit Risk
- Provides credit analysis and limit proposals for all APAC clients. Analyses and formulates credit proposals and controls, identifying potential credit risks for sound decision-making, ensuring that risks are within the limits and risk policy of AAC.
- Organizes Local Credit Committee, including scheduling of meeting times and ensuring quorum for decisions is met at meeting. Obtaining necessary approvals afterwards based on documented credit approval process.
- Collects information from internal and external sources for performance of credit assessment. These include - but are not limited to - Relationship Management/Clients, Market Risk Management, Finance and public news sources etc.
- Collaborates with Relationship Managers to ensure periodic reviews of credit clients.
- Provides management reporting to local, regional and global management and other internal stakeholders on credit reviews.
- Providing ad hoc inputs to regulators, auditors, compliance and legal on where credit risk of clients are involved.
- Assessing, proposing and tracking the Definition of Default (“DoD”) Classification for all AAC clients in APAC. This also includes proposing mitigating factors to restore any client to non-default state.
- Advises in the development and improvement of risk assessment and management. Elaborates best practices and stimulates the use of them within AAC.
**Requirements (Qualification / Key Technical Skill / Knowledge)**
- Bachelors’ Degree in a related field - Economics/Finance/Accounting
- Related financial qualifications are an advantage (e.g. CFA, FRM)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- 1-3 years’ experience in finance, credit risk management or a similar role preferably within banking/finance industry.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, credit reports and relevant industry regulations.
