Senior Laboratory Assistant

Job Description & Requirements
The main duty of a lab assistant is to support the professional lab technologist in collecting specimens, preparing them for analysis and running routine lab tests. As a lab assistant, you may test blood, urine, tissue and other bodily substances.
- To supervise and co-ordinate the activities of the Pre-Analytical department staff, ensuring that the highest standards of work are maintained.
- Receive laboratory specimens and reject those that are unsuitable for analysis.
- Opening and booking of samples received.
- Sort and label samples/forms in the laboratory.
- Scanning and sorting of request forms.
- Using Laboratory Information System to perform functions such as result query, order entry and result entry.
- Housekeeping of laboratory, equipment and machineries.
- Assist in laboratory duties such as maintaining inventory, including laboratory cleaning and clearing of Bio-hazardous waste
- Cleaning and maintaining work area and all lab equipment and supplies
- Ensure SOP and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) is implemented.
- Any other administrative duties as assigned by supervisor.
**Job Requirements**:
- Diploma in Biosciences.
- 3 to 5 years of experience preferably in Medical Laboratory Industries.
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Able and willing to maintain strict level of confidentiality regarding laboratory results and records
- Excellent computer skills
- Team player
