Job Description of**:Excavator Operator**
The work scope for the above job title is as but not limited to the following:
**1 **The main task of the Excavator Operator is operate the excavator. However, the Excavator may be expected to take on the role of a Construction Worker and perform manual labour as required by the Company.

1.1 The Excavator Operator is to listen to the instructions of the Site/Store Supervisor with regards to work unless he thinks those instructions will cause bodily harm to himself and others.

1.2 The Excavator Operator is to take care on the maintenance of the excavator assigned to him.

1.3 The Excavator Operator is to take care to avoid damaging underground services during excavation.

1.4 Site conditions may be harsh such as by the roadside, substations etc.

**2 **Safety

2.1 The Excavator Operator must at all times operate machinery or equipment in a safe manner and only if he is qualified to operate them.

2.2 The Excavator Operator must follow safety procedures at his work site.

2.3 The Excavator Operator must inform the Supervisor immediately if he observes unsafe work practices. He shall rectify the situation to the best of his abilities if the Supervisor is unavailable.

2.4 The Excavator Operator must report all incidents or accidents that occurred during the operator of the excavator to his Supervisor.

2.5 The Excavator Operator must let his Supervisor or the Store Supervisor know if the excavator he is operating requires maintenance or repairs.

Job requirements:

- Experience in SPPG projects
- Hydraulic Excavator Operation certificate
- Underground services detection certificate
- BCSS certificate will be favoured.
- Able to work night shift if required
- Have own transport to sometimes go to remote work sites.
