Apprentice & Claiming Jockey Coach

Reporting to the Chief Stipendiary Steward, the successful incumbent will provide a comprehensive learning program to enhance and develop the riding skills of the Apprentice Jockeys for the Singapore Turf Club. **Responsibilities**: - Be responsible for the training and career development of the Apprentice Jockeys - A role model to the Apprentice Jockeys - Under Singapore Training Academy of Racing (STAR) programme, establish, plan and execute comprehensive training programs - Conduct weekly training - Conduct regular training seminars (theory and practical) - Attend Race Meetings to assist the Apprentice Jockeys with their race riding responsibilities and provide feedback on their rides ensuring improvement in their riding techniques - Attend trackwork and trials to coach the Apprentice Jockeys on their riding techniques and horsemanship - Represent apprentices in Stewards’ Inquiries when required, ensuring the Apprentice Jockeys understand the inquiry processes and the Rules of Racing - Preparation of Raceday assessment report to Chief Stipendiary Steward - Provide after-hours support with the apprentice jockeys’ riding commitment and escalate issues that require intervention - Any other projects as assigned **Requirements**: - Minimum GCE "O" levels. Degree holder from recognized university will be preferred. - 5 years’ of working experience as a Professional Jockey, preferably with 3 years’ experience as an Apprentice Jockey Coach with professional qualifications in trainings and assessments - Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Working hours include weekends and occasional public holidays
