Microsoft has an exciting opportunity for an experienced service engineer to join the international Assured Sovereign Azure Platform team, focused on secure cross-domain and administration capabilities.

In support of Sovereign Microsoft Azure capabilities, our cross-domain services enable secure data transfer between enclaves, supporting a wide set of missions within highly regulated industries. Coupled with the challenges of supporting complex environments across disparate security domains, these roles create exciting complex engineering and service support challenges you can solve with us

We are looking for experienced service engineers to join a fast-paced team and solve complex problems in the domain of mission-critical and highly assured distributed systems - including API’s, secure gateways, data partitioning and system management as well as deployment and self-healing capabilities.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage in the operation and support of a critical set of secure services to be consumed by customers in highly secured and regulated industries. The systems and software you support will be required to meet the complex security policy and assurance requirements of both public and private sector customers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Actively engage in the support, troubleshooting and automation of the operation of products, services and experiences in high-assurance environments.
- Deploy, operate, and maintain IT environments to support secure administration and operation of sovereign environments.
- Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance with security standards
- Engage in the 24/7/365 support, including participating in rotating on-call responsibility if required

**Qualifications**:

- 3+ years of system and service administration of complex platforms, including Windows Service and Linux.
- Systems shell scripting experience (Bash, PowerShell, Python), along with Network configuration and troubleshooting experience
- DevOps experience, including continuous configuration automation
- A strong interest in innovation to deliver advanced and progressive customer experiences.
- Understanding of the challenges of system and service management in complex environments.
- Ability to influence towards common goals and priorities.
- A sense of ownership a for end-to-end outcomes, with strong communication skills.
- Experience of service support, with on-call responsibilities.
- Experience in problem solving and analysing distributed systems and critical production service environments.
- Deep interest in service operation in high assurance environments
- Proven experience in service operation in cloud or similar environments
- Experience supporting the deployment and maintenance of services.
- Knowledge and experience of system and service management, ideal in secure environments.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Further clearances and vetting as required.
