What you'll do:
As a Product Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for the strategic development of the Maritime quality program along with day-to-day quality support for Viasat's Singapore operations and suppliers. The role will be a combination of hands-on product quality support, along with the development and implementation of an effective quality program.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest quality and performance standards while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing quality control processes, conducting product analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues.

The day-to-day:

- Evaluate design, manufacturing, testing, and operational processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, failure analyses, and corrective actions to ensure mission safety and performance.
- Ensuring the RCCA process provides prompt resolution and robust solutions to prevent a recurrence, focusing on mistake-proofing and process improvement
- Resolve non-conforming material issues
- Team with Supply Chain to drive supplier excellence initiatives. Perform supplier audits as required.
- Create specific results and metrics that are most relevant for the products/programs being supported to aid in determining priorities and objectives
- Manage ISO9001/AS9100 adherence audits, reviewing findings, reviewing Viasat procedures, and communicating status reports to upper management
- Champion production validation and risk mitigation with suppliers
- Provide mentorship to program management, engineering, and operations on quality planning and execution to fulfill the overall quality mission
- Understand the most critical quality issues affecting programs/customers and regularly communicate them to business area quality leads as well as key program stakeholders

What you'll need:

- 5+ years’ experience in quality, operations, and/or engineering in a development and manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of AS9100/9001 Quality Management Systems
- Knowledge of theory and principles of data analysis
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, read procedures and process guidelines, record and interpret data
- Working knowledge of Failure Modes Effects Analysis, (FMEA), 8D, 5 Why, etc.) and other failure analysis quality tools
- Must display autonomy (ability to work independently with mínimal direction)
- Demonstrate technical aptitude (ability to comprehend sophisticated technical topics and niche information)
- Ability to communicate and influence different stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Up to 20% travel (domestic and international)

What will help you on the job:

- 3+ years auditing suppliers and supporting new production introduction
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Applied Sciences, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Maritime hardware development and manufacturing experience
- Lead AS9001/ISO9001 auditor trained
- Detailed understanding of the First Article Verification Process
- Understanding of IPC 610, IPC-620S, J-STD-001S, MIL-STD-883
- PLM tool knowledge (such as Agile), as well as ERP systems, (such as SAP)
