**About the Role**:
A newly created opportunity has arisen within our global Privacy function to appoint a** Regional Privacy Specialist - APAC. **With four regional Privacy teams across the globe, this position will sit within the Japan and APAC (JAPAC) region.
Reporting to the Head of Privacy, APAC (stationed in Singapore), you will be responsible for executing operational privacy tasks including delivering training; implementing privacy awareness campaigns; developing, implementing, and managing privacy tools and resources; mailbox management; liaising with internal Olympus clients; assisting with the provision of privacy compliance advice; and regular reporting.
Additionally, you will:
- Deliver privacy compliance advice to internal stakeholders and executing operational privacy tasks as defined and allocated through JAPAC Privacy.
- Work with internal stakeholders, within applicable jurisdiction(s) or across regions, to develop and maintain a data inventory and Records of Processing Activities (‘ROPAs’).
- Proactively monitor and analyse evolving laws, rules, regulations and guidance to help Olympus to maintain compliance and strategic alignment.
- Initiate relevant privacy assessments to internal stakeholders and assist in their completion.
- Adapt and deliver ongoing training and privacy awareness initiatives to the JAPAC region.
- Support with the assessment, evaluation and documentation of potential privacy compliance risk and applicable mitigations as agreed by the business.
- Support JAPAC Privacy and/or the wider global Privacy organization in privacy incident management and response.
- Strive for continuous process optimization and implementation of privacy compliance requirements based on documented data processing activities from the business.
**Role location**:
As a truly global function, the selected incumbent may be based in South Korea, India or Malaysia. Please note that you must have unrestricted working rights within your specified country location. For those seeking to relocate into those countries, relocation support will not be offered.

Education
- Relevant academic degree such as Law, Business or Project Management.
- Preferably relevant certifications such as CIPM or CIPP or equivalent
**Skills**:
- Demonstrated experience in privacy compliance.
- Proven practical knowledge of applicable local and regional data protection law (preferably with exposure to GDPR as well).
- Experience with privacy management software such as OneTrust.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in other Asian languages would be viewed favourably (e.g., Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai or Vietnamese).
- Regular participation in global team meetings, primarily virtual formats, and occasional physical presence.
