Mechanical & Civil Engineer

**Job Purpose**

The Mechanical & Civil Engineer (M&C) will assist and support the Maintenance Manager for overseeing and ensuring all Mechanical & Civil maintenance activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with corporate standards and industry regulations.

He/she is responsible for all Maintenance & Civil project works and innovative projects related to the Mechanical & Civil discipline. He/she will also provide support to other entities in the Mechanical & Civil area when needed.

**Your tasks**:
1) Administer HSSEQ Standards, Procedures and Practices
- Ensure compliance with all HSSEQ rules and regulations including donning of appropriate PPE
- Promptly report all incidents and support MM in incident investigation e.g. mechanical & civil equipment failure and trouble-shooting
- Exercise leadership in coaching seconded Mechanical & Civil workers on safe work practices and quality risk assessment

2) Manage Emergency Responses and Crises
- Act as a part of the terminal response team and provide shutdown advise to area of concerns

3) Manage Maintenance Planning and Scheduling
- Plan for routine maintenance (e.g. repairing or replacement) to follow up with test report after inspection and servicing
- Carry out terminal power shutdown work every three years by making arrangement for the shutdown and liaising with several parties to align with the terminal operations
- Formulate proper plan before submitting budget request for upgrading work (e.g. replacement of pumps, MLA, pipelines)

4) Perform Inspection and Maintenance Work
- Assist in maintenance and upgrading of Mechanical equipment & civil infrastructure
- Carry out yearly mandatory equipment testing (e.g. Tank storage, bullet tank inspection)

5) Manage Asset Integrity
- Maintain the integrity of mechanical equipment such as pumps, loading arms, storage tanks, pipelines to ensure no failure or faulty component after maintenance and servicing
- Manage the tank storage and pipeline overhaul and replacement works etc.

6) Manage Execution of Engineering Project
- Responsible for innovation projects related to process improvement (e.g. upgrade of pump/pump system, pipelines, MLAs to ensure that the TA meets 99.9%)
- Support engineering projects by providing Mechanical & civil expertise. Examples include Mechanical and civil drawing approval, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), on-site inspection for installation, and Testing and Commissioning
- Act as the liaison engineer with external parties, such as SLA, SCDF, MHD, JTC and external customers and stakeholders

7) Administer Staff and Organisational Development

Conduct training updates on mechanical/storage tanks/pipelines system requirements and standards

**Your profile**:

- **2-5 years in the field of mechanical and civil maintenance, hands on and have good field exposure and knowledge**:

- **Good experience in maintenance and operations of mechanical equipment such as PD/CP pumps, MLAs, Pipelines, pressure vessel etc in a typical refinery/tank storage facility and process plant**:

- **Possesses either a NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering**:

- Has a certification in Supervise Workplace Safety and Health in Process Plant (SWSHPP)
- Preferably has an API certification of 653, 570, 510 or any ASNT level 2/3 valid certification
- A Class 3 driving licence is preferred
- Able to work in a face paced industry, multi-task and to work under pressure
- **Possesses strong knowledge and capability in mechanical equipment troubleshooting **Possesses good interpersonal and communication skills

- This position is based in Jurong Island. Working hours: Mon - Fri, 0830 - 1700 hours.
