You will be working within the Laboratory Safety Team, providing support to the safety and operational functions in the research laboratories, which will enable the research staff and students to strive towards research excellence.

**Responsibilities**:
Laboratory Operations
- Maintain the relevant laboratory licenses, permits and certifications.
- Coordinate checks on chemical orders, maintain the chemical inventory and their corresponding Safety Data Sheets.
- Coordinate the chemical and biological waste management.
- Conduct trainings on the use of some common equipment.
- Coordinate lab space allocations for the researchers.
- Any other Ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Safety
- Ensure that duties are carried out in compliance to ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
- Assist in the laboratory safety inspections and audits on a regular basis.
- Maintain and update the risk assessments and other safety-related documents.

Administration
- Required to perform some administrative work (no experience required)

**Job Requirements**:

- Diploma/Degree in Biomedical/Life Sciences or equivalent.
- Laboratory/research support experience is preferred.
- Preferably to have some prior hands-on experience and knowledge in using common chemicals and laboratory equipment.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Words and Excel
- Preferably with some knowledge of workplace safety management systems
- A hands-on person who enjoys working in a dynamic research environment.
- Able to work independently and in a team.
