We have an exciting opportunity for a **Senior Structural Engineer,**to join our team of engineers in any of our **APAC ABL offices including Singapore,**and be part of the ABL Group.

**What will you be doing?**

As our **Senior Structural Engineer**, you will work as part of a team, supporting and performing regional structural discipline duties. In addition, you will:
Technical Role
- Undertake technical consultancy work as required.
- Develop existing and new technical competencies in alignment with the business needs.
- Oversight and checking of others work in accordance with responsibilities delegated by discipline head.

Marketing & Sales
- Perform day-to-day client management activities with existing clients through established relationships, in conjunction with Product/Sector Leads.
- Support and undertake tendering activities.
- Partake in activities to promote the business and develop new clients.

Management
- Manage assigned projects in terms of safety, quality, schedule and resources.
- Communicate to the Discipline Head the resource needs to deliver assigned projects to quality, cost and schedule.
- Communicate directly with the customer with support from Senior Engineers.
- Undertake project planning, invoicing and cash collection activities.

Training
- With support of the discipline team, identify training requirements for junior engineers to develop team technical competence in accordance with the Company’s needs.
- Develop company training material to develop technical competence in accordance with the Company’s needs.
- Identify own training requirements to maintain continued professional development.
- Support the training and development of engineers within the team

General
- To represent the interests of all Group companies to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in all business activities.
- To comply with current revisions of all internal policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Follow the requirements of the HSEQ management systems.

**What are we looking for?**

Ideally, you'll bring strong expertise in structural engineering principles and be proficient in FMEA modelling software. You are self-motivated, a proactive team player, and possess excellent communication and report-writing skills. In addition, you should also have the following:

- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline relevant for the role.
- 5 years of experience in relevant area of engineering.
- Background in Marine or Offshore Engineering.
- Computer literate.
- Beam Finite Element modelling software (e.g. Staad. Pro, SACS, Sesame) environment knowledge is an advantage
- Plate and Solid Finite Element modelling software (e.g. FEMAP, ANSYS) environment knowledge is an advantage
- Ability to review and approve structural deliverables (models, reports, drawings).
- Good interpersonal skills, a strong team player with a proactive approach.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy, and the ability to prioritise work.
- Well organised and self-directed, proactive and insightful.

**Desirable**:

- Full Member of a professional institution.
- Chartered Engineer with UK Engineering Council or equivalent.
- 7 years professional experience.
- Previous relevant work experience with classification society, shipyard, engineering consultant or offshore contractor in a similar capacity is an advantage.
- Can develop internal tools and spreadsheet.
- Familiar with the offshore oil and Gas, ship design, marine operation or renewable foundation environment, practices, terms, rules and regulations.
