Senior Electrical Engineer

**Job Description & Requirements**

This role requires good organizational/coordination skills and execution/control of a team of electrical discipline engineers. Direct contact with the client and vendors will be necessary. The principle role of the Senior Electrical Discipline Engineer is to:
Support planning, definition, award and manage various Engineering Contractor’s technical deliverables for both basic engineering and detailed design, as well as their timely issuance to support construction and integration activities.

Support planning, definition, award and manage Package Vendor’s technical deliverables and equipment delivery.

Support preparation of project-specific discipline-related technical specifications and drawings with regards to all Client, Company and Classification Society requirements.

Ensure compliance with Client basis of design and corporate specifications.

Prepare, interface with client and maintain a deviation request list with regards to allClient specifications.

Ensure that all contractors and vendors, and the overall project design meet thecontractual, Classification Society and technical requirements related to electricalengineering discipline.

Support ensuring development and consolidation of electrical-discipline engineeringregisters/lists, using input from the other disciplines.

Assist in interface engineering registers, P&IDs, calculations and drawings.

Ensure compliance with Safety Studies recommendations and best practices.

Provide technical discipline support to EIT System/E-House Contractor in conjunction withthe EIT Package Manager.

Interface with Operations to define, finalize and support the procurement of 2-yearoperation and capital where applicable.

Assist trouble-shooting during construction, mechanical completion, pre-commissioningand commissioning, through to start-up, and including during operating regime.

- Upon request, shall be able to converse with client and respond to their queries while protecting the interests of the company.
- Shall be able to converse with and respond to Contractor’s queries while protecting the interests of the Company.
- Shall be able to identify and react to changes in Company’s contractual scope of work.
- Maintain close working relationship with other discipline engineers and package managers.
- Ensure optimized solutions.

**Functional Know-How**:

- Good technical knowledge on discipline-specific codes and standards, Classification Society Rules and be able to converse effectively with experts of all disciplines
- Good working knowledge of FPSO Electrical System (LV, MV, HV) and all aspects of associated electrical discipline engineering for FPSOs.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that project budgets are kept, and life cycle costs to Yinson are minimized and that project schedule is maintained.
- Assist in managing the Engineering Contractors and Equipment Vendors. Follow-up and monitor Contractor schedule and progress and ensure any deviation is mitigated by corrective action coordinated with YP team.
- Interact with Client as required.
- Perform and ensure execution of the electrical discipline engineering scope of work inaccordance with the legal obligations, contract terms, scope of work, technicalrequirements and company policy.
- Interact with and support the engineering contractors as required (including MarineEngineering, EIT System Engineering, Topsides Module Engineering, IntegrationEngineering, LQ Engineering, Shipyard Engineering, etc) and equipment/package vendors.
- Achieving resolution of multi-discipline equipment problems by coordinating with otherdiscipline engineers and project engineering management team.
- Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging methodologyimprovements; and absorbing new practices from clients and partners.
- Engineering problem solving and troubleshooting, even when not directly in owndiscipline (taking a holistic approach to the project).
- Assist to coordinate discipline issues between client, contractors, vendors and otherrelevant parties.
- Assist to provide input to weekly/monthly progress reporting and other relevant statusinformation as needed.
- Participate in audits and review processes as necessary.
- Interact with non-technical disciplines as required (document control, cost control,planning).
- Other tasks as requested by the Engineering Manager and Discipline Lead.
