- Munich Re has experienced exponential growth in demand for analytics pilots from its clients in life and health. An exciting opportunity to join the Digital Solutions and Propositions Innovations team located in Singapore for a dedicated senior actuary who is interested in heading the actuarial team and driving the actuarial aspects and risk quantification related to data analytics projects, managing financials, and active engagement with stakeholders from various business units and clients. The division supports Munich Re’s life and health clients in Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa business._
- As such you will gain exposure to a wide variety of business problems, other teams of Munich Re, clients and geographies. You will report to the Chief Operating Officer, Digital Solutions, Life & Health 2, and will be based in Singapore._

**Your Role**:

- Oversee the actuarial functions of the actuarial team and serve as deputy to the COO function.
- Act as a liaison point especially on the technical aspects of projects including discussions on products, assumptions, methodology and industry norms with the local business units within Munich Re Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa business
- Oversee the technical actuarial methodology in performing the required analysis and in performing risk quantifications including obtaining the necessary approval from the internal risk committee for analytics projects.
- Manage the communication with clients on risk implications and provide support to clients in obtaining risk approvals.
- Support the financial aspects of the business including but not limited to financial reporting, reinsurance discussions and negotiations, derivation of business case and expense allocation.
- Lead or support any strategic initiatives that Munich Re decides to embark on.

Your Profile:

- Fellow of a recognized actuarial body (FSA, FIA, FFA or FIAA)
- 10+ years of experience in life insurance or reinsurance
- Excellent technical and analytical expertise, with a logical and concise approach, and a demonstrated commitment to detail
- Excellent understanding in life insurance operations (underwriting, actuarial, risk management, claims); experience in data analytics or health insurance is beneficial
- Practical experience in project management and client management
- Excellent command of verbal and written communication skills
- Enjoys dealing with clients and selling solutions, has an influential personality and excels in seeing tasks through to completion
- Ability to integrate in a high-performance team with a high degree of responsibility, self-reliance and adaptability in managing business pressures
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team with good project management and prioritisation skills
