Singapore ASP SHIP MANAGEMENT SINGAPORE PTE LTD. Full time

Manage the assigned fleet of tankers and bulkrers and ensure the safe, efficient and economic operations
- Maintain all Class and Statutory Certificates in conjunction with the relevant Master and Chief Engineer
- Client and company interface
- Provide, manage all aspects of technical advice on all mechanical, hull and control system for the vessel type operations under management
- Ensure shipboard personnel maintain professional standards
- Is the primary point of contact for the Master and the vessel’s personnel and the overall management, monitoring of the safe and efficient operations of all assigned vessels and ensure effective corrective and preventative actions in line with ASP’s Integrated Management System.
- Is responsible for ensuring that all trading and statutory certificates remain valid, vessels maintain and comply with all relevant Regulations, Codes and Practices.
- Is accountable for ensuring stores, spares and services are supplied to the vessels in line with approved budgets;
- Liaise and assist with any marine emergency involving any vessel managed by ASP.
- Investigate significant events and devise solutions and strategies to prevent these from reoccurring;
- Is responsible for monitoring and verifying the close-out action of all recorded events in STAR events module, in particular any outstanding Condition of Class, by the due date. The provision of resources and other support required to facilitate the effective and timely close-out of all recorded events. Should an extension of a due date be required, the ship manager is to ensure that the risk assessment process is duly followed;
- Must be able to undertake a ship inspection for each vessel under their management
- Ensure that the assigned vessels are maintained in such a standards as to be always prepared for any third party inspection.
- Continually review all facets of shipboard vessel maintenance repair programs, fabric, preventative or any unscheduled maintenance.
- Is to prepare specifications for the dry docking and running repairs, supervise dry docking, running repairs and verify accounts on completion under Client and Fleet Manager’s directions;
- In conjunction with the Fleet / General Manager, engage in the process for any new vessel acquisition into the fleet or decommissioning vessels from the fleet.
- Consult with the Group Training Manager to identify existing and future crew training requirements;
- Approve/endorse permits of work if required from the managed vessels.
