Assistant Maintenance Manager

**JOB SUMMARY**

To assist and support the ADOE/DOE in daily operation of the engineering department. His primary role is to plan and execute preventive maintenance program for the guest rooms, guest corridors, function/meeting rooms and all outlets on furniture, walls and other hotel assets. Lead and manage a team of Technicians and Tradesman to carry out proper repair and preventive maintenance. Provide engineering support to other departments to achieve their operation objective. Carry out training to engineering associates to improve on their knowledge, skill and competency in the operation. Constant review and innovate engineering practices for improvement and productivity. Understand department P & L and execute work in cost effective manner.

**JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To report to immediate supervisor - ADOE/DOE for daily operation.
- To assist the ADOE/DOE in conducting daily morning briefing on room occupancy level, important guest in-house, room activities and discussion of un-resolve defects and method of rectification, and deployment of manpower to work.
- To resume the role of ADOE/DOE in the event of his absence due to annual leave, medical leave, etc.
- To conduct daily check on Shift Technician Log book and clear defects within the day.
- To coordinate on the request of MCST and render support as required.
- To assist in the preparation of monthly engineering associates duty roster.
- To guide key associates to fulfill their roles and responsibilities as per Job Descriptions.
- To assist DOE/FSM to carry out fire safety checking, training and preventive maintenance work on all fire safety systems and equipment to meet the local authorities’ requirement.
- To perform Duty Engineer duties as per monthly roster plan.
- To plan and carry out service, repair and preventive maintenance to guest rooms, guest areas, function/meeting rooms and other hotel assets.
- To assist and support to other team on plant and machinery, equipment and other facilities installation preventive maintenance.
- To ensure all service contracts to all plant and machinery, M & E installations, equipment and other engineering installations and systems are serviced as per requirement and schedule.
- To supervise contractors on the Preventive and Corrective Maintenance to all equipment, Plant and machinery and M & E installations, including repair works
- To ensure all daily defects are rectified within the permissible time without compromise to operation.
- To carry out Engineering Audit Checks on Service Contract contractors periodically to ensure highest engineering standard is attained.
- To keep record on all defects and maintenance work carries out on all equipment, M & E systems or installation, and plant and machinery.
- To analysis defects trend of all equipment, M & E systems and installation and other plant and machinery to prevent further breakdown and reduce maintenance and repair cost.
- To co-ordinate equipment, M & E systems and installation, and plant and machinery improvement and upgrading work/project.
- To liaise with consultants, suppliers, contractors and respective departments on improvement and upgrading work/project.
- To adhere to Workplace health and safety regulations in the course of work.
- To assist in other maintenance program as and when required and or instructed.
- To ensure engineering associates performance meets the engineering standard practices.
- To conduct training to engineering associates on hotel guest room engineering systems, M & E installation and infrastructure, and other plant and machinery to constantly enhance their knowledge and skill level to meet the competency level.
- To constantly be creative and innovative in his areas of work to further improve operation and reduce maintenance cost.
- To understand department monthly financial (P & L) report and assist the ADOE/DOE in his yearly budgeting exercise.
- To provide ideas on water conservation and energy saving as part of engineering practices.
- To organize and plan proper logistics support for all work to be carrying out and complied with hotel purchase standard requirement.
- To attend all meetings as required.
- To provide Technical report as and when required.
- To carry out other task as and when required and instructed.
- To be competent in drafting out request for quotation and tender document, to conduct tender exercise together with DOE/DOE
- To be competent in establishing Engineering Projects Pictorial Reports
- To be competent in establishing master calendar plan, Preventive Maintenance Checklist, Tracking and trending.
- Be conversant in Transcendent and GXP usage.
- To obtain quotations from contractors and liaise with the awarded contractors for any maintenance repair issues.
- To ensure all spares, tools, are sufficient for the Engineering Team to perform their daily task.
- To assist any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
