**Direct Search Global is working with a Japanese petrochemical company to fill the role of Senior Procurement Executive to be based in their Singapore plant. The plant location is at Jurong Island. Transportation is provided at Jurong East.**

Petrochemical industry is one of Singapore’s key economic sectors, whereby Jurong Island is the heart of Singapore’s energy and chemicals industry. Procurement department is the key to a company, where the procurement team manages inventory and finance effectively, resulting in high revenue.

In the procurement team, you hold the major responsibility in cost-controlling and revenue projection. At this job, you get to expand your procurement network by establishing professional relationship with existing and new suppliers; as well as sharpen your interpersonal skills including negotiation. Moreover, you get to expose to materials in producing polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) resin, synthetic fiber and more.

**Who Should Apply?**

Procurement Executive who comes with 5-8 years of experience in petrochemical industry, is looking forward to advancing his/her career in a multi-national company with the HQ in Japan.
- Managing all purchasing duties, which involve interacting with external providers, requesting quotes, confirming orders, expediting deliveries, arranging shipments, and assisting Account Payable with payment resolutions.
- Taking part in the selection, evaluation, and qualification of new external providers, products, or services to expand the procurement network.
- Ensuring that purchasing functions comply with plant requirements, maintenance projects, and production schedules before initiating purchase orders with external providers.
- Periodically evaluating the performance of external providers and, when applicable, participating in external provider audits.
- Reporting to and following up with external providers to ensure timely resolution of all nonconforming issues through corrective actions.
- Soliciting competitive bids/quotations and negotiating with external providers to procure materials and subcontracts at the best evaluation, considering both technical and commercial aspects.
- Being responsible for achieving predetermined cost savings targets within the allocated budget.
- Continuously improving the effectiveness of the purchasing function by staying up-to-date with market and materials conditions, and making recommendations based on current price trends and availability.
- Periodically establishing, reviewing, and revising purchasing processes/procedures to enhance resource efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintaining and updating purchasing documents/records, SDS, and the approved external provider list.
- Ensuring the timely dissemination of purchasing-related information.
- Taking a leading or participating role in related continual improvement programs.
- Performing any other duties or assignments assigned by superiors.

**Job Requirements**:

- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in procurement and petrochemical industry.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong negotiation skill
- Attentive to details
- Able to work independently.
- Establish professional relationships with suppliers and clients.
