Senior Specialist, Program / Project Management

The rapid pace of change in technology puts pressure on the IT organization to keep our systems current and simple to use. People want access to information, from any place, on any device, at any time of day or night. These challenges require IT to significantly uplift its technology and information skillsets to meet the rapidly accelerating information and technology demands of the modern workplace. To address this challenge, IT has established a product model and product teams that can work virtually with business clients and other IT colleagues across all geographies and divisions.

The role requires a strong person who is resourceful, has a solid presence both regionally and divisionally, is highly self-motivated, attentive to detail and able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Prepare business case, define project team, and identify key stakeholders, define roles and responsibilities
- Lead the definition of the project scope, milestones, tasks, deliverables, and resource requirements
- Partner with vendors to process quotes and invoices in alignment with the company’s policies
- Partner with Product Managers to develop and regularly calibrate metrics for the product
- Set and communicate high-integrity roadmap commitments that have been assessed collaboratively with the delivery team in terms of value, feasibility, usability, and viability
- Create, maintain, and continuously prioritize the product backlog to maximize value delivery and its long-term sustainability (including stability, compliance and other aspects)
- Ensures that the backlog is transparent, visible, and understood for all stakeholders
- Leads adoption and retention of the product or service
- Drives release and support planning and execution
- Connects the delivery squad(s) with the customers and facilitate direct communication between them.
- Monitors and optimizes product’s total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Primary stakeholder of the end user support portal serving as the central point of contact for technology upgrades and enhancements as well as user experience
- Establish a communication strategy in partnership with business and IT sponsors and effectively communicate project or product related information to delivery team members, IT management and customers throughout the project or product life cycle
- Develop and maintain project plans, status reports, risk and issue logs, budget/ongoing project forecast of resources and materials and other project related artifacts
- Collaborate with company support functions to leverage knowledge management practices and principles.
- Develop and communicate knowledge management strategy to stakeholders in IT and other support functions.
- Work with IT Finance to manage projects and products in company tools and processes.
- Keep user experience in the forefront of all user-facing projects and products
- Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning. Manage risk register and defect tracker.
- Initiate, manage and negotiate project scope changes
- Ensure that assigned projects are conducted in compliance with all department financial standards, policies, and guidelines
- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise delivery team members and other project managers
- Escalate issues that require executive attention
- Manage vendor contracts and drive deliverables to meet target dates

**Education Minimum Requirement**:

- Education: BS Degree in Computer Science, Math, Accounting, or equivalent experience

**Required Experience and Skills**:

- 7+ years direct work experience in a global IT project management capacity
- Demonstrated track record of success at delivering IT projects on time, within budget, and with high quality.
- 2-3 years’ experience managing an IT product or service
- 10+ years working with SAP
- Strong intellectual curiosity and capacity for professional growth
- Strong familiarity with MS Office & MS Project and relevant PM tools and techniques.
- Holistic understanding and knowledge of unified communications, network and end user computing technologies and services
- Ability to define, manage and exceed business customer expectations
- Ability to operate at macro level, driving large teams with multiple stakeholders but also can individually contribute to work products when required
- Ability to build consensus amongst delivery team members and key stakeholders
