Direct Procurement Specialist

**Permanent position, Salary up to $6100 + AWS + Bonus**:
- **Located in Tuas Area, Chemical Manufacturing Plant**:
- **Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering / Material Science or other relevant disciplines**:
- **At least 5 years of working experience in the related field in direct raw chemical materials/ operational plant equipment purchase is preferred**:
- **Experience in Facility Management is a bonus
**Responsibilities**:
- Ensure that procurement policies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market.
- Able to lead a team and or hold a project, being result focused and having the ability to make decisions by gathering information, articulating, and solving complex problems.
- Create and review opportunities for alternative materials and or suppliers to meet the business unit objectives in procurement activities and deliver the best values and business savings.
- Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
- Maintain system integrity in the ERP system, and ensure procurement policy, guidelines, and any associated documents are in place and updated when required.
- Understand the trend of raw material/feedstock related, update the information to the commercial team, and provide analysis on costs, new and cost savings activities. Develop strong partnerships with suppliers.
- Work with suppliers and have a process in place to measure effective performance, quality, and compliance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance. Work Collaboratively, negotiate, and engage with stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the procurement strategy.
- Communicate with stakeholders the impact of the market change and potential effects on supply. Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimizing cost.
- Contribute and communicate the impact on Procurement activities to new business initiatives and projects.
- Involvement in Global procurement project activities.
- Conduct yearly suppliers’ performance to monitor the vendor performance (on-site / off-site), and attend meetings assigned and ad-hoc meetings.
**Job Requirements**:
- Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering / Material Science or another relevant discipline
- At least 5 years of working experience in the related field.
- Experience in Facility Management is a bonus
- Possess very strong sourcing skills.
- Leadership and accountable team worker, proactive, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of organization and suppliers. Strong interpersonal skills to work productively and collaboratively with multi-functional teams to achieve business goals.
