Controls & Automation Engineer

**Description**

**Responsibilities**
- Lead all aspects of Control and Automation work for the project.
- Design and technical support for the projects including hardware, software, instrumentation, and controls elements as part of an integrated system.
- PLC and SCADA programming work for the entire project experienced for major PLC brands including but not limited to Siemens, Allan Bradley, etc.
- Basic duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Review project/client’s specifications, preparing necessary documents, submission to client, coordinating with client to get approvals, preparing the RFQ as per the project specifications / approved documents, getting the vendor quotes, prepare the technical and commercial comparison, discuss with the concerned team members to finalize the vendor, prepare the purchase requisition, coordinate with purchase dept. for the PO, coordinate with the vendor for necessary engineering and manufacturing work, follow-up/expedite with the vendor to ensure the delivery as per the schedule, FAT with the vendor, coordinate with vendor & site team for material delivery to site. Support for site installation and commissioning. client Identify, create, and support project documentation including but not limited to PLC, HMI, SCADA, control/signal wiring, wireless technology, cabinet/panel design, BOM, and layout drawings to client’s specifications/requirement and corporate standards.
- Prepare/submit /get the approval of the documents including but not limited to: Control Architecture, IO List, Datasheets, Specifications, Control Philosophy, Control Narrative, Functional Control Specifications, Cause & Effect Matrix, Logic Diagram, Control schematics, Alarm, and Interlock List, functional and technical specifications, HMI / SCADA Screens, Cabinet / Panel design, Panel/Control/Signal wiring, Bill of material, FAT procedure & report, SAT procedure & report
- Support proposal, engineering, project management, and site construction/commissioning/operation team for E&IC work as and when required.
- Traveling overseas for Design engineering, project management, and site construction/commissioning/operation work, as and when required.
- Must have the ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary team, environment to perform all duties in a professional and timely manner.
- Must be able to work through problems from a technical and practical perspective while maintaining cost controls.
- Have good organization and communication skills.
**Skills, Experience, and Educational Requirements**
- Certification & Experience for PLC and SCADA development/programming for Siemens, Allen Bradley, and other reputed brand PLCs is essential
- Certification & Experience for WONDERWARE software will be considered as an added advantage
- Certification & Experience for IGNITION software will be considered as an added advantage
- Minimum 5 - 7 years experience handling Controls and Automation projects (as per the Job Description) in Singapore/Malaysia/ Southeast Asia.
- Experience in Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of Controls and Automation projects, experience in water treatment projects will be considered as an added advantage.
- Exposure to AUTOCAD and being able to produce electrical wiring diagrams and schematics is desirable.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office: Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical thinking, interpersonal/communication skills, writing, and problem-solving capacities.
- Reliable, well-organized and detail-oriented.
