As a Senior Travel Advisor, you will be an integral part of our team, responsible for crafting personalized itineraries that showcase the diverse cultures, landscapes, and attractions of South America.
**Responsibilities**:
- Expert Destination Knowledge: Possess an in-depth understanding of the various countries, regions, cultures, and attractions within South America. Stay updated with the latest travel trends, local events, and emerging destinations.
- Client Consultation: Engage with clients to understand their travel preferences, interests, and budget constraints. Recommend suitable itineraries, accommodations, activities, and transportation options that align with their requirements.
- Itinerary Design: Create bespoke travel itineraries that offer unique and enriching experiences in South America. Incorporate a balance of must-see landmarks and hidden gems, ensuring each trip is tailored to the client's preferences.
- Logistics Planning: Coordinate flights, transfers, accommodations, tours, and other logístical aspects of the travel itinerary. Ensure seamless travel arrangements for clients, taking into account local customs, languages, and transportation options.
- Cultural Insights: Provide clients with insights into the local cultures, traditions, cuisines, and etiquette of South American destinations. Offer guidance on respectful interactions and immersion experiences.
- Client Relationships: Build strong relationships with clients through effective communication, active listening, and responsiveness. Address their questions, concerns, and requests promptly to enhance their overall travel experience.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other travel consultants, suppliers, and partners to enhance product offerings and stay up-to-date with industry trends. Share knowledge and expertise within the team.
- Sales and Revenue Generation: Meet or exceed sales targets by promoting and selling travel packages and services. Provide accurate pricing information and upsell additional experiences to enhance clients' trips.
- Travel Documentation: Assist clients with obtaining necessary travel documentation, including visas, passports, and health-related requirements for their South America trips.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field is required.
- Proven experience as a travel consultant or in a similar role, with a strong specialization in South America.
- Passion for travel and an extensive knowledge of South American destinations, cultures, and attractions.
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English. Proficiency in Spanish is a strong advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, especially in coordinating complex travel logistics.
- Sales-driven mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a client-centric approach.
- Problem-solving abilities to address unexpected situations and provide effective solutions.
- Proficiency in using travel reservation systems and technology tools.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends to accommodate client needs.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
