5.5 days - Location: Office at West region (Workplace depends on project sites as allocated) - Basic up to $4k AWS & VB Provided A Project Engineer (Fire Protection System) is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of fire protection systems in a construction project, ensuring they comply with regulations and function effectively. Here's a breakdown of their typical job scope: **Design and Planning**: - Review architectural and structural plans to identify potential fire hazards. - Study & coordinate the design of fire protection systems like sprinklers, alarms, and exits according to building codes and standards. - Prepare technical specifications and drawings for the fire protection system. - Work with other engineers (civil, electrical) to ensure compatibility of fire protection systems with the overall building design. **Project Management**: - Develop project schedules and milestones for fire protection system installation. - Prepare cost estimates and bid packages for contractors. - Evaluate contractor proposals and select qualified vendors. **Site Supervision and Completion**: - Oversee the installation of fire protection systems according to plans and specifications. - Conduct inspections and testing to ensure proper system function. - Review and approve contractor submittals (shop drawings, material data). - Address any issues or non-compliances arising during installation. - Work with authorities to obtain approvals for the fire protection system. **Documentation and Closeout**: - Prepare operation and maintenance manuals for the fire protection system. - Ensure proper handover and training for building occupants on using the fire protection system.
