**What the role is**
- The ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute is a leading research centre dedicated to the study of socio-political, security and economic trends and developments in Southeast Asia and its wider geostrategic and economic development.
The Research Officer will have a 2-year term appointment.

**Responsibilities**:
Successful applicants are expected to:
- Monitor social media communications and activities for further analysis and review
- Assist researchers with quantitative analysis, programming, and statistical support
- Perform data acquisition, data cleaning, and other general research support and activities
- Assist in the editing of reports and publications by MTS researchers
- Provide administrative support in organising workshops and other activities under MTS, including writing summary reports
- [What we are looking for]
**Requirements**:
- University degree in computer science, humanities, or social sciences (especially media studies and digital humanities) with knowledge in quantitative or computational analysis; an advanced degree would be an advantage;
- Familiar with social media platforms and analytics;
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Python, JavaScript and SQL) and visualisation tools will be an advantage;
- Good communication and writing skills in English;
- Analytical and problem-solving skills and positive work attitude
