Avp/vp, Underwriting Governance

**PURPOSE**:
1. Ensure Company’s Underwriting policies are in place, in compliance with HO and MA guideline, implemented and followed
2. Quality Control of Underwriting to achieve targeted result
3. Administer Underwriting manuals, guideline and Risk Acceptance Authority and Underwriting breaches
4. Ensure overall pricing adequacy
5. Monitor, analyze and take actions to improve results, motor and WICA in particular
6. Optimize Underwriting productivity and efficiency through digitization
7. Ensure implementation of Group Policies as may be assigned, including the establishment of procedures, control mechanisms, monitoring and reporting
8. Conduct audit, Underwriting and Reinsurance workshop
9. General oversight of Segment Profit Centre (SPC)
10. Develop and implement Environmental Risk Management framework and strategy
11. Management of Risk Survey team and Service Providers
12. Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements (PPF, IFRS17)
13. Undertake any other duties as may be assigned
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Tertiary qualification and/or insurance professional qualifications
**SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE**:
- Leadership qualities with emphasis on business transformation, performance achievement and strategic vision
- Business Analysis
- Portfolio management techniques
- Sound knowledge in insurance products and reinsurance
- Good communication skills, verbal and written
**EXPERIENCE**:
- Operational experience at a senior management level in general insurance operations
