Provide supervision to shipyard managers, supervisors and foreman
- Develop departmental plans, including business, production and organisational priorities and establish shipyard goals
- Develop and maintain shipyard budget
- Direct activities in safety and personnel, production, scheduling, material handling and quality and ensure compliance with safety, quality company, and regulatory directives in conjunction with HSE Manager
- Reviews and interpret designs, drawings and specification, recommend changes to plans and specification to meet actual vessel condition
- Direct and coordinate shipyard operations within company policies and procedures
- Responsible to provide the quantity and quality of workers to meet with schedule, budget and timeline. Train assigned supervisor in safety, cost control job skills, quality and scheduling
- Direct all phases from Piping fabrication, installation, testing and reinstatement works performed by our workers
- Establish all shift production schedule
- Translate company strategies into tactical plans, Create and prioritise resources and steps required to accomplish goals set
- Confer with management team to ensure coordination on purchasing, production and shipping and approve requisitions and invoices for operating materials
- Work with HR to maintain employee certifications to ensure all training and qualification documentation is timely and accurate
- Maintain good and safe shipyard housekeeping
QUALIFICATION
- At least 10 years experience as a shipyard manager or other managerial position in a shipyard environment
- An Engineering degree from an accredited university
- In-depth knowledge of all business function associated shipyard management
- Considerable knowledge in all areas of shipbuilding and repair, material handling, labour, safety and MOM regulations and practices
- Experience in P&L and general accounting practices for shipyard operation
