**About the Team**:
**The Role**:
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead the development and operational management of our backend services. You will play a crucial role in architecting, implementing, and maintaining our systems that are critical to driving our geospatial solutions forward. Your expertise in backend technologies and your experience with geospatial data processing will directly impact the effectiveness and efficiency of our services.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Design and implement backend services in Golang, Python and C++, Rust, Nodejs optimizing for performance and scalability.
- Develop and maintain APIs and services that integrate with various geospatial data sources and mapping technologies.
- Manage and optimize Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters to ensure seamless deployment and scaling of services.
- Enhance our route optimization and map rendering capabilities using pathfinding engines like OSRM and Valhalla.
- Expertise in geocoding technologies such as Photon and Pelias, and proficient in map editing tools like JOSM and QGIS.
- Database management and optimization for both SQL and nonSQL databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, HBase and Redis etc..
- Expertise in performing complex data transformations, optimizing data processing workflows, and leveraging Spark to enhance system performance. A strong understanding of distributed computing principles and practical experience.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of all backend services, including efficient data storage, retrieval, and real-time processing.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- 5+ years of experience in backend development, with strong proficiency in Python, Golang, C++, Rust, Nodejs and Shell scripting.
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong background in managing containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong skills in big data processing, especially Apache Spark, HBase, Hive.
- Strong understanding of routing engines, especially OSRM and Vahalla.
- Experience with Google and AWS cloud services, especially GCP Big Table, GCP Big Query, AWS SageMaker.
- Deep understanding of AI and machine learning models, such as XGBoost, Bert, Graphical Models.
- Familiarity with geospatial data processing, geocoding technologies such as Pelias, Photon.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable and performant backend systems.
- Solid experience with various databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, HBase, Redis) and their respective maintenance and optimization.
- Proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is required to facilitate effective communication in our diverse work environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

**Bonus Points for**:

- Extensive experience with OpenStreetMap (OSM), TomTom, or INRIX.
- Familiarity with other geospatial tools and technologies.
- Contributions to open-source projects related to geospatial data or backend services.
- Advanced degree in Geoinformatics or a related field.
