
Workplace Safety Officer

**Job Duties Include**:
- Conduct a comprehensive review of all WSH framework and safety related documents (such as risk assessments, safe working procedures, method statements, lifting plans, fall prevention plans and rescues plans, etc) used by the Client for the Premises.
- The WSH Officer shall submit a report on the initial review in around one (1) month’s time after the start of the Contract including recommendations and plans to implement any measures or changes, if necessary.
- Work with the Client to prepare any new risk assessments (RAs), plans or procedures for the Premises, if necessary.
- Carry out periodic review of all safety related documents as stipulated by the WSH Act throughout the Contract Period.
- Carry out the duties as described below but not limited to the following:
- Brief the Client on updates and learning points from relevant WSH incidents and new rules and regulations from MOM or relevant authorities;
- Advise the Client on the measures to be taken in the interest of the safety and health of any person working or employed within the Premises;
- Conduct safety orientation briefings to the new staff and contractors before they are allowed to work in the Premises;
- Review safety-related documents submitted by contractors and conduct safety briefing to contractors prior to carrying out any work/activities in the Premises;
- Conduct training courses and other activities which will develop and maintain the interest of any person working or employed within the Premises in establishing safe and healthy working conditions;
- Conduct thorough on-site safety inspections on a weekly basis for all Premises to ensure that they are strictly in compliance with the WSH Act, and determine whether there is any work activity or operations including the use of machinery, equipment, appliance, process, or labour used, conditions of facilities which is of such a nature that is liable to cause risk of bodily injury to any person working or employed within the Premises;
- Note and report all findings and outcome of each inspection at the Premises to the Client. The WSH Officer shall compile safety inspection report for each Premises after the inspection and incorporate into the monthly report;
- Assist in investigating into any WSH incident including slips, trips and falls or accident which takes place within the Premises arising from manual labour and/or use of machinery, equipment, appliance. The WSH Officer shall submit an incident report including the recommended action(s) to be taken to remove the cause(s) of the accident;
- Investigate every fatal accident and dangerous occurrence which takes place within the Premises (including accidents occurring outside stipulated working hours);
- Take part in any inspection of the Premises carried out by the management thereof for the purpose of assessing the efficacy of any measures taken in compliance with the WSH Act;
- Organise and attend the monthly WSH meeting of the Premises and draft notes of meeting to be cleared by the management of the respective Premises;
- Advise, in the interest of the safety and health of the persons employed therein of the respective Premises, the specifications: of any repair or alteration to be made to the Premises or any extension thereof of any new machinery, equipment, or appliance to be installed or used in the Premises.
- Keep the workplace records prescribed under the WSH Act. Keep a copy of those records and the Act and all regulations made thereunder at the Premises and submit theses records to the Client at the end of the Contract;
- Report to the Client on the work done or to be done by persons employed therein for the purposes of observing the provisions of the WSH Act.
- Review the existing safety procedures and documents such as the Risk Assessment, Safe Working Procedure, Method Statement etc. for works carried out and recommend new WSH procedures as and when required;
- Propose safety equipment needed by the Premises and ensure that all newly purchased safety equipment is safe for use;
- Carry out any other safety related duties, as and when instructed by the Client.
- Review the existing safety procedures and documents such as the Risk Assessment, Safe Working Procedure, Method Statement etc. for works carried out and recommend new WSH procedures as and when required;
- Propose safety equipment needed by the Premises and ensure that all newly purchased safety equipment is safe for use;
- Carry out any other safety related duties, as and when instructed by the Client.
- Conduct relevant WSH training for all officers working at the Premises.
- Plan, design and conduct monthly safety meetings including training sessions at all Premises. The training package shall be designed to promote the workplace safety and health at the Premises.
