A Research Engineer II position is available in the Centre for Bio-Devices and Bio-Informatics, School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The Research Engineer will support the research project titled “Heterogeneously Integrated Autonomous Microsystems,” which will play integral parts of next generation tetherless physiological monitoring technology. Handling ~$100,000 of the project budget, the Research Engineer will develop a human-hair scale, high-sensitivity analog front ends based on bulk and SOI CMOS processes at 180 nm node or below. Cadence and related software will be used for design, simulation, and extraction of the said IC circuits development and on-bench electrical testing will be done prior to full integration with optical components.
**Job Description**:
The Research Engineer II will develop the analog front end of various autonomous microsystems and its opto-electrical power and communications interface to enable low power smart physiological sensors. The roles of this position entail:
- Development of compact and cost-effective integrated circuit (IC) opto-electrical interface to power and communicate with autonomous microsystems.- Development of low power analog circuits for the front-end amplification and noise shaping.
Job Requirements:
- Masters in Electrical and Electronic Engineering- 1 year research experience in a related area- Expertise in optoelectrical interfaces and low power circuit design- Knowledge in interfacing circuit design for wireless power transfer- Publication track record is preferred- Proficiency in basics of programming languages such as C, C++, Matlab and Python- Proficiency in English
