Key Responsibilities
Team Management-; Lead, coach, and develop a team of Operational Risk Controllers within the first line.; Allocate resources effectively to meet deadlines, priorities, and business risk objectives.; Foster a strong risk culture through training, communication, and engagement.
Operational Risk Management-; Oversee the execution of the 1LoD operational risk framework, ensuring alignment with Grouprisk policies and regulatory expectations.; Lead risk and control self-assessments (RCSAs) across relevant business functions.; Drive the identification, assessment, and remediation of operational risk issues.; Monitor operational incidents and ensure proper root cause analysis and action tracking.; Support implementation of key controls and ensure they are operating effectively.
Risk Governance & Reporting-; Prepare and present operational risk reports to senior management, business committees, andgovernance forums.; Escalate risk issues in a timely manner.; Track and monitor operations control metrics and key risk indicators (KRIs)
Change & Continuous Improvement-; Partner with Operations managers to provide risk insights on new products, processes, andprojects.; Promote process improvements to strengthen controls and enhance operational efficiency.; Ensure robust operational risk guardrails are defined, implemented, and regularly reviewed forAI/GenAI projects.
Education / Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Banking, Finance or Business
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in operational risk management within banking or financialservices.
- Strong understanding of operational risk frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, andregulatory requirements
- Familiarity with Consumer and Wealth Banking Operations will be an advantage
- Proven leadership or team management experience
