Eh&s Specialist

**Responsibilities**:

- Conducts internal/department inspections to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and programs.
- Coordinates generation and distribution of product material safety data sheets.
- Assists with accident investigation and corrective action implementation as designated by EH&S management.
- Coordinates medical and hazardous waste disposals and minimization activities.
- Coordinates EH&S assessments and projects as assigned. Reports to management as applicable. Coordinates corrective action as appropriate.
- Conducts accident investigations with department supervisor and personnel. Coordinates corrective action as deemed appropriate.
- Assists manufacturing personnel in identifying potential hazards and control strategies.
- Conducts EH&S related training as needed.
- Participates on committees and projects.
- Stays current on EH&S regulations and requirements related to Division operations.
- Provides input on situations or decisions to EH&S Management and Division Staff for determination of action plan.
- Provides reports on potential operational hazards to EH&S Management for review, support, and direction.
- Updates existing and creates new department procedures related to MSDS and Waste disposal activities.
- Establishes annual calendar, works with functional departments to properly categorize and store waste.
- Completes annual regulatory submissions including Business Plans, Waste Summaries, and Air emission totals.
- Participates in Medical Emergency Response Team and Spill Response Team.
- Conducts training as directed.
- Performs ergonomic evaluations.
- Generates/manages related MS Data systems.
- Provides recommendations on potential operational hazards for review, support, and direction.
- With operations staff, conducts exposure evaluation and accident recreation.
- Conducts accident investigation as directed.
- Coordinates EH&S audits and tracks corrective actions and completes necessary documentation.

Qualifications:

- Diploma / Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 4 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of chemical substance regulations and EHS Laws
- A registered Work Place safety And Health Officer with MOM
- Must have professional knowledge in WSHE legislation and regulation
- Experience with completing and submitting EH&S-related reports to appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Experience working with multiple levels of authority and responsibility.
- Exposure to risk assessment and controls strategies a plus.
- Able to respond after normal business hours to emergency situations.
- Interpersonal communication and public speaking skills, including training of groups.
- Verbal and written communication skills, including documentation of activities in correspondence to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and programs.
- Time management, multitasking, and problem solving skills.
