【 What you will be doing 】
- Managing replication and failover in a cluster of PostgreSQL servers using EDB EFM tool
- Administering a large PostgreSQL database’s ability to do performance tuning
- Monitoring databases to optimize database performance and diagnose any issue
- Performing vacuum and analysis on the high-volume tables and databases which will remove the bloats and will update the statistics of the database
- Proactive managing replication like Streaming replication and logical replication using xDB
- Writing scripts for scheduled vacuuming
- Tuning auto vacuum parameters to ensure up to date table stats and reclaim space consumed by dead tuples
- Monitoring the bloat report on every table and performing maintenance with mínimal downtime
- Administering the database security, creating users, granting roles, privileges to users
- Deploying different extensions on the database server
- Deployment of external tools on the top of PostgreSQL-Server (pgbouncer,pgbadger)

Requirement**:

- Possess Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- At least 6 years of working experience on production PostgreSQL DBs and experience in a production support environment
- Excellent communication, with the ability to communicate to external Senior Management and internally
- Expertise with Windows/Linux Operating Systems and cloud hosting providers (Azure/AWS etc.)
- Should have at least one public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) deployment experience
- Experience in backing up and restoring PostgreSQL database
- Experience in installation, configuration, and maintenance of PostgreSQL from 9.5 to 13.x
- Work experience in migration from Oracle/MySQL to PostgreSQL using EDB MTK
