Team Lead, Aml Transaction Monitoring

**Job Description**:
**Primary Objective**
- To supervise the AML TM & Sanctions Advisory team on day-to-day operations to ensure compliance
- To lead and provide guidance to the team to achieve work efficiency and effectiveness
- To ensure the TM alert, suspicious AML/CFT activities from business/support units are reviewed, investigated and resolved in a timely manner and in accordance to the established policies and procedures
- To review and approve higher risk events, such as investigation papers, STRs and Sanctions escalations
- To ensure timely submission of STRs to STRO
- To provide relevant advisories to the business/support units and other AML/CFT teams on sanctions related matters
- To act as the liaison officer between LEAs and the Bank with regard to production orders
- To maintain, provide inputs and support to strengthen the TM and Sanctions Advisory frameworks, processes and systems, e.g. TM tuning, watchlist management, etc.
- To ensure that the team is keeping abreast on the latest AML/Sanctions typologies and best practices
- To prepare and support MLRO on management reporting
- To perform ad-hoc tasks/projects assigned by MLRO

**Key Responsibilities**

AML Transaction Monitoring & Sanctions Advisory
- Oversee the TM & Sanctions Advisory team and ensure that the TM alerts/transaction hits are properly reviewed and disposed in accordance to the established procedures and SLA
- Approver for all IPs, STR submissions, sanctions escalations and high risk incidents
- Ensure that STRs are submitted timely and attend to follow-up requests from LEAs adequately and in a timely fashion
- Ensure proper documentation is maintained (i.e. supporting documents, screening and checks performed, manual registers, etc.)
- Provide support, training and guidance to the team
- Provide advisories to the business/support units and other AML/CFT teams on sanctions related matters arising from escalations and other investigations
- Act as the liaison officer between LEAs and the Bank with regards to production orders
- Ensure the team’s OM is relevant and up to date
- Assist MLRO in carrying out AML statistics and management reporting

Other Function(s)
- Work effectively with other AML teams to maintain a robust AML transaction monitoring program
- Perform tasks or participate in projects as requested by MLRO
- Work closely, and support other Compliance teams

**Qualifications**:
Formal Education:

- A university degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or other relevant disciplines

Professional Accreditation:

- Preferably with AML professional qualifications/certifications, e.g. ICA and ACAMS

Preferred level of Experience (by years/function/industry):

- At least 7-10 years of experience in AML/TM/Sanctions Compliance with established financial institutions

- Experience in leading a team
- Experience in TM and Sanctions related work
- Thorough understanding of sanctions laws and regulations
- Able to exercise sound judgment and possess strong analytical skills
- Possess good writing and communication skills
- Self-driven and meticulous
