**Job purpose**:
To identify, manage and mitigate legal risks in day to day work.

**Key activities**:

- Developing, drafting, reviewing, negotiating and assisting with completion of corporate lending and trade and structured finance product and transaction related documentation with pan-Asian and Middle Eastern coverage, with coverage including receivables purchase and asset lending transactions, and funded/unfunded participations.
- Advising on general banking, account opening, collateral and security structures, digital signing, client corporate approvals, loan transfers and related issues, and instructing and working with external counsel, reviewing and negotiating legal opinions and supervising legal due diligence aspects of the involved business and transactions.
- Advising on confidentiality and data protection issues (including cross-border transmission of data and transfers/storage of data in the cloud) and reviewing and negotiating non-disclosure and data transfer agreements
- Assisting the business with deal structuring and advising on products and deals from a legal risk perspective.
- Advising management and other functional partners on legal and regulatory issues generally and advising on cross-border marketing of products.
- Develop and maintain client and service provider relationships, co-ordinate with other risk management areas.
- Assisting in the review and development of legal forms, policies, procedures and systems.
- Provide legal training to enhance general legal awareness.
- Other tasks as needed to support the Head of Legal Asia.

**Formal education**:
Bachelor’s degree or above in law.

**Specialist knowledge (work experience, further qualification)**:

- Called to the bar in Singapore or other common law jurisdiction
- Not less than 5 years’ relevant work experience gained at an international financial institution or at a top tier law firm (a combination of experience is preferred);
- Familiarity with the legal systems and banking regulations in Asian countries;
- Strong drafting, negotiation and legal analytical skills;
- Ability to communicate well and work in a cross-functional team to achieve common goals.
