- Primary responsibility in the area of material failure analysis with opportunities to be involved in traffic crash reconstruction.
- Forensic analysis of failed materials such as metals, polymers, composites etc, through the use of testing methods such as microscopy, spectroscopy and mechanical testing to identify the root cause of such failures.
- Forensic examination of traffic-related casework such as speed calculation, blind zone determination, reconstruction, etc.
- Provide quality and efficient forensic science services. Use of equipment and computer software simulation may be required in some of the casework.
- Formulate hypotheses and design experiments to answer questions raised by stakeholders during forensic investigations.
- Prepare forensic reports and provide expert testimony in Court for the administration of Justice.
- Assist in/Lead research projects to develop and improve in the methodology, technology and quality aspects.
- Attend crime scenes and provide expert consultation services to stakeholders when required.

**Job Requirements**
- Background in Materials Science, Mechanical/ Civil Engineering or Physics.
- Experience in failure analysis or materials characterisation is a plus.
- Familiarity with programming languages (such as MATLAB, R and Python) and/or Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software is a plus.
- Good critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to details.
- Excellent written and spoken English and good oral presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Highly motivated with a strong desire to serve the administration of justice.
- Ability to work independently and also collaborate with others.
